An important concern on everyone’s minds — from grower to buyer, retailer to consumer — is that of Food Safety and Quality, and rightfully so, as it’s one of the hottest topics of concern for the produce industry today. Jakov P. Dulcich & Sons would like to personally assure you that we are 100% committed to growing, packing, storing and shipping only the highest caliber of premium table grapes available, in the safest manner possible. Adhering to the very highest level of handling practices throughout every stage in the process is the decisive factor in our delivering the safest and healthiest product possible, every shipment, every time.
As part of our Global Food Safety Program, our Food Safety Coordinator conducts internal audits regularly. In addition, we are voluntarily audited once a season by a Certified Third Party Auditor. But our efforts don’t stop there. To ensure we have traceability in case of a recall, we conduct annual mock recalls consisting of a variety of scenarios, taking all outcomes of the exercises very seriously. In addition, thorough training is conducted for all new hires to ensure everyone who works as part of the Dulcich family is up on the latest safety developments.
Jakov P. Dulcich & Sons has also proudly established what has become known as the “Hazard Program,” where all employees are ultimately allowed to serve as quality control inspectors of product as it moves through their area. Dulcich employees are not only requested, but required, to hold or reject any produce found to be out of compliance with Dulcich standards until evaluation by authorized management can be obtained.
